Certain medications such as MAOI inhibitors and substances like THC and alcohol can increase the naturally occurring phenylethylamine levels in the brain.


Types


There are several scores of phenylethylamines known to date. The discovery and documentation of these many phenylethylamines is often credited to the work of chemist Alexander Shulgin. The classifications of phenylethylamines range from illicit drugs such as methamphetamine to fairly unknown substances such as the research chemicals 4-bromo-2,5-dimethoxyphenethylamine.


Warning


Phenylethylamines are a very potent and physiologically altering substance. Though it has a short duration within the body, its effects are very well pronounced, and overly long exposure can lead to imbalances within the body's chemistry. Draw A Bed Bug

Bed bugs are small insects that are so named because they are often found in beds and small crevices. These small creatures, also known by the scientific name Cimex lectularius, feed off of the blood of warm-blooded animals. Humans are the best targets because humans have a lot of exposed skin. Adult bed bugs are about 1/4 inch long and are a reddish-brown color. Their bodies are oval and flat.


Instructions


1. Draw an oval with your pencil that is longer horizontally than it is vertically. This is the head of the bed bug. At the top of the oval, draw a small circle whose bottom border overlaps with the top border of the oval. Draw the circle midway on the oval and make it about one-eighth as wide as the oval. The circle adds detail to the shape of the bug's head.








2. Draw another oval connecting to the bottom of the one you drew in step 1 to make the body of the bed bug. Make this oval longer vertically than it is horizontally and about three times as large as the head. To make the body look more authentic, make it slightly pointy on the end opposite the head and draw eight evenly spaced vertical lines down the body to show texture.








3. Draw three legs on each side of the bed bug. Draw the first pair of legs coming out where the head meets the body. Draw the third pair of legs at the halfway point of the bed bug's body and draw the second pair of legs halfway between the first and the third pair.


4. Draw two antennae, with one coming out on the right side of the circle on top of the head and the other coming out from the left side of the circle.


5. Fill in the color for your bed bug. First color all the parts lightly with the brown colored pencil or crayon and then go over that even more lightly with the red colored pencil or crayon. Once you have completely colored the bed bug, add details using the black colored pencil or crayon. Go over the horizontal texture lines you drew on the body and sharply outline the body, head, legs, and antennae with black.

Propagate Red Yeast Rice

Red yeast rice is colored by the fermenting process of a fungus.


Red yeast rice is a popular Asian ingredient for red sake and as a food coloring. It has also been used as a medicinal and has made it's way to the U.S. as a cholesterol reduction supplement. Red yeast rice is made by fermenting a fungus called Monascus purpurea on cooked glutinous rice. It adds flavor and color to the rice, which is then used in cooking and spirits. Monacus purpurea is known as a filamentous fungus and is naturally occurring.


Instructions


1. Rinse the polished white rice. Cook the rice according to the package directions. Cook the polished white rice until the rice is all the way done and soft at the core. Cool the rice in the refrigerator.


2. Sprinkle the Monascus purpurea on the cooled rice. Mix the fungus in with the grains to coat every one. Allow the Monascus purpurea to sit on the rice for three months in a cool, dark area like your pantry. Stir the mixture every week to make sure every grain of rice receives the benefits of the fungus. Keep the bowl of rice covered with a plastic lid.


3. Strain out the vinegar after three months and pour it into a bottle to use in cooking or as a condiment. The remaining solids are the red yeast rice. It can be kept in the refrigerator for a month. Use it in cooking or make it into wine.

Schizophrenic Disorders & Treatments

Schizophrenia--a serious, chronic mental illness--makes up approximately one-third of U.S. homeless and a quarter of all mental health costs. Many afflicted are unable to hold jobs and live normal, well-adjusted lives, and thus the disorder places an undue burden on the public health system. While serious, however, it is treatable, and the only way to help is to first understand the basics of schizophrenia.


The Facts


Schizophrenia is a lifelong, disabling brain disorder marked by the hearing of voices, as well as the fear others are reading and controlling your thoughts and are out to get you. As of 2009 there was no cure, but the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill hopes to have one by 2013. Family history seems to play a major role, but as many of the symptoms can be attributed to other disorders, misdiagnosis is common.


Significance


Schizophrenia affects approximately 51 million people worldwide, and more than 100,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with the disorder each year. It strikes men and women equally, but is noted to hit males in their teens and women in their mid-20s to early 30s. Schizophrenia.com reports the disorder is among the top 10 causes for disability in developed countries worldwide.


Types


Six subtypes of schizophrenia exist. Paranoid schizophrenia is most common, associated with hallucinations and the deep suspicion of those around you. Disorganized schizophrenia, also known as Hebephrenic Schizophrenia, is characterized by unusual thought processes and emotions often inappropriate for the situation. Catatonia deals with coordination problems, feelings of isolation, and being withdrawn. Residual schizophrenics lack motivation and interest in everyday activity. Schizoaffective occurs when schizophrenia is coupled with a mood disorder such as mania. When the general guidelines for the disorder are present, but symptoms do not neatly fit in the aforementioned types, undifferentiated schizophrenia is diagnosed.


Features


Three categories of symptoms are associated with schizophrenia. Positive symptoms are easily spotted as healthy people do not experience them, such as unusual and disorganized thoughts or perceptions, hallucinations and delusions, and unusual movement problems. Negative symptoms, as The National Institute for Mental Health writes, refer "to reductions in normal emotional and behavioral states." These symptoms are often attributed to laziness or depression. Thirdly, cognitive symptoms relate to poor attention and memory.


Treatment


Your doctor may first administer a series of tests to rule out other likely possibilities, though no physical test currently exists that can "absolutely" diagnose schizophrenia. Knowing your family history and keeping a daily journal of your thoughts and actions can help your doctor come to an accurate conclusion, as well. Once diagnosed, doctors generally prescribe antipsychotic medications, but take note: One medication may work for some but not for others, so it may take a few tries to find the one that works for you. Psychotherapy and support groups both in person and online can also help.


Warning


Schizophrenia.com warns that the relapse rate for those who discontinue their medication is about 80 percent within two years. Also, the suicide rate is 50 times that of the general population. Substance abuse, mainly nicotine, is also common among schizophrenics. NIMH reports that "several studies have found that smoking interferes with the action of antipsychotic drugs," thus you will require higher doses of medication for them to work properly if you smoke. It is important that you tell your doctor if you start smoking and if you quit, as quitting may trigger episodes to worsen temporarily.

5. Ask if the sapphires you are looking at have had their colors enhanced. Up to 90 percent of sapphires have been heat-treated in order to intensify their color. A heat-treated sapphire is not as valuable as one with its natural color intact.


6. Know the different geographical origins of blue and yellow sapphires. While some of the world's most brilliant blue sapphires are mined in Montana and Kashmir, yellow sapphires are mined in Sri Lanka. The different geographical origins of these gems is due to the different mineral composition of the soils in which they were formed.


7. Learn about the different astrological interpretations of these sapphires. Blue sapphires represents the powers of the Roman god Saturn, while yellow sapphires are considered to be ruled by the god Jupiter. Blue sapphires is said to make a person well-balanced and motivated; astrologists claim yellow sapphires can make a woman more marriageable.

Become A Chiropractor In Michigan

Michigan requires a license for all chiropractors.


Chiropractors provide therapeutic services for patients with spinal and nerve injuries. They must receive extensive classroom and clinical training to learn chiropractic skills. Michigan requires a license to ensure that all chiropractors in the state have the knowledge and skills to effectively treat patients. The state has a rigorous set of requirements to qualify for a license. Aspiring chiropractors must commit substantial time and effort to get a Michigan license. 1. Graduate from an approved chiropractor school. The Council on Chiropractic Education accredits chiropractor doctorate programs. Quick movements that are flowing facilitate opening and flexibility for kapha practice. Vinyasa sequences stimulate movement and circulation. Practice sun and moon salutations.


Tastes

Women in the joint Melpomene Institute/Runner's World study referred to running as a weight-gain and fatigue fighter. In addition, the American Journal of Public Health found that bone density was 5 percent higher for women runners in menopause than in their counterparts who did not run. For those who led a sedentary life, the distinction between the runner and "couch potato" was most marked; the female runner had 8 percent higher bone density. The Journal also reports that women over the age of 50 who didn't exercise at least two times a week were nearly 85 percent more likely to develop a fracture than their active counterparts. The University of California-Berkeley also reports that the risk of developing heart disease decreased by nearly 30 percent for female runners.

Of all the positives that women in the Runner's World/Melpomene study attributed to running, the #1 source of satisfaction with this activity was its impact on enhancing their mood. Nearly 31 percent of those studied referred to the improvement in their emotional health as the biggest change running brought to their lives.


Mental Benefits


According to a National Institutes of Health study, post-menopausal women who exercised at least 70 minutes a week or three to four times a week reported striking improvements not only in energy and relief of mood swings and depression, but in cognitive functioning. Participants attributed their walking, running and everything-in-between programs to their ability to think better at work and to perform everyday tasks more efficiently and effectively.

3. The sun is known to increase the formation of wrinkles prematurely. The more you expose your skin to the UV light of the sun the more you place yourself at risk to premature aging. The important thing to remember is to always wear protection from the harmful rays. Wear sunscreen or wear protective clothing to reduce the skin exposure, ie, sun hats or sunglasses.


4. Use a lot of moisturizers to keep the skin hydrated and supple. Wrinkles are more likely to form if the skin is dehydrated and dry. Replenish the skin after you wash your face or if you are out in the dry humid environment. Use creams that have added vitamins and nutrients, SPF in them.








5. Drink plenty of water every day. It is recommended to drink about 6-8 glasses of water each day to keep the body and skin hydrated.


6. STOP SMOKING. Besides containing carcinogenic substances that you inhale into your body cigarette smoking is definitely the number one bad habit that we can stop to prevent premature aging of the skin. Smoking reduces the amount of oxygen available to the circulation and to facial skin which then causes the skin to wrinkle. Additionally, the repetitive facial movements from smoking around the lips and mouth increases the lines int hat area.


7. Use a facial steamer or face tonic regularly to help slough of the dead cells on the surface of the skin and to increase the blood circulation to the epidermis layers of the skin. This will help maintain youthfulness and give you a "glow" to the face as well as reducing wrinkle lines.

Proper Tooth Brushing

It is not enough just to brush one's teeth once or twice a day, you should know the appropriate way to brush your teeth in order to best prevent plaque, cavities and gum disease. Move the brush in a circular motion going toward the back right side of your mouth and then the back left side of your mouth.

Kohler'S Bone Disease

Kohler's bone disease is a rare disorder in which the blood supply to a bone at the back of the foot known as the navicular is cut off. This causes the navicular bone to die and collapse, producing a number of symptoms.


Prevalence


Kohler's bone disease occurs most commonly in children between the ages of three and five and is more common in boys than girls, reports the National Institute of Health.

Before You Begin

Once you get the slow repetitions down, try mixing it up with quick contractions. Perform the exercises in the same manner as the slow ones, but to not count to ten. Instead do each rep as quickly as possible, ten times. Do a fast set after each slow set. These exercises are especially good for bladder control.

If you are doing the reps correctly, your testicles should lift when you contract your muscles.


Try and keep your other muscles relaxed during Kegel exercises, concentrating solely on your pelvic muscles. Breathe throughout the repetitions.
