Make Earache Oil

The pain of minor earaches can often be soothed with natural treatments. Most of the home remedies can be easily made from ingredients that are probably already in your kitchen. Give them a try and see if they offer relief.

Instructions

1. Crush a garlic clove and put it in a small jar filled with olive oil. Let it sit for at least an hour and as long as a day for a more potent mix. Warm the oil slightly and use an eye dropper to apply 2 or 3 drops to the ear. Finish with a cotton ball to keep the oil from running out. Lie down with the affected ear up for at least 15 minutes.

2. Extract fresh juice from peppermint leaves. Use a mortar and pestle or food processor to grind the leaves. Place the mashed leaves on a piece of clean fabric and squeeze the juice into your ear.

3. Fill a clean sock with salt or rice. Tie the sock closed and heat it in a microwave. Use the sock like a heating pad held against the ear. The heat will be soothing, but be sure not to heat it too much. Salt and rice can get hot enough to burn your skin.

4. Pour some black pepper in a clean handkerchief and form it into a ball about the size of a fingertip. Fasten it with a rubber band or a piece of string. Dip the pepper ball into hot coffee and squeeze out the excess coffee. Make sure the ball isn't too hot, and then insert it into your ear.
