In the Atlanta metro area, dieters have two choices for freshly made, low-calorie food delivery. Good Measures Meals and Fresh 'n Fit Cuisine both provide diet food delivery in the Atlanta area. Both companies have dietitians on staff, who plan each meal.
History
Good Measure Meals was started by Tom Murphy, a restaurant owner. In 2005, the company was bought by an Atlanta nonprofit organization called Open Hand, but is run as an independent business entity. Some of the proceeds go toward the nonprofit's goals.
Sarah Burmeister and Chris Gyoury are the co-owners of Fresh 'n Fit. Previously, they worked on three TV cooking shows, "Good Eats," "Mario Eats Italy" and "Rick Bayless' Mexico: One Plate at a Time."

Benefits
At Good Measures, you pay about $27.50 a week for twice-a-week delivery by refrigerated truck. If you are not available to let in the delivery man, then you need to provide a cooler outside the door. Delivery days are Monday and Thursday. Home deliveries are from 2 to 8 p.m., and office deliveries are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can also pick up your meals from more than 40 locations on Mondays and Thursdays. You will save on the delivery fee, but you will still pay a processing fee of about $2.50 per week.
On the Fresh 'n Fit plan, the distributors decide on the fees and the areas they will deliver to. You can also pick up your meals from 30 area distributors. Delivery or pick-up days are Mondays and Thursday.
