1. Take vitamins that consist of B6 and folic acid. You would take these particular over-the-counter vitamins if you are lacking protien. Take one pill twice a day. Other vitamins to take will help with vitamin C or calcium. Improve your eating habits by eating more vegetables and fruits.
2. Get enough sleep. This is the most common reason behind dark circles under the eyes. Get at least 7 to 9 hours a night in order to get the proper rest. If you can't seem to sleep for that many hours then be sure to lay down and rest for the time you missed from your sleep. For instance, if you slept only 6 hours, then lay down for at least one hour during the day or before you go to sleep.
3. Put a wet washcloth over your eyes while you sleep. Make sur the cloth is wrung out and isn't dripping wet. Leaving the cool and wet cloth on your eyes will help give a fresh appearance to your eyes and help eliminate the dark circles as well as any puffiness you may have. Put slices of cucumber on your closed eyes for 10 to 15 minutes a day. Try this mostly in the morning before you start your day.
4. Put a facial masque on your face at night before you go to sleep. This will help reduce puffiness and discoloration on your face. The minerals and oils from the masque will give your skin the freshness and coloration it needs. This is one of the easiest ways to help get rid of any dark circles. You can buy the masques through a cosmetic dealer such as Mary Kay or Avon.
5. Take over the counter or prescription medication if you have allergies. Sometimes allergies will cause dark circles and in order to get rid of them you will need to get rid of your allergies. Therefore, you can go to your doctor in order to find out what would be the best medication to take for your allergy or search through the local pharmacy and ask the pharmacist what they would recommend.
