Stop Thinning Hair

Thinning hair is not just a concern for men as they grow older, studies show that 40 percent of women over the age of 40 also experience thinning hair. While the causes can be as vastly different as heredity and menopause, there are a great number of people seeking the solution. If you are experiencing less hair than you remember, there are some steps you can take to restore your hair.

Instructions

1. Try a topical treatment to fight the signs of baldness as a first resort. Find an over-the-counter product that claims to treat thinning hair. Only purchase a product containing minoxidil. This is the key element that soaks into the scalp and promotes hair regrowth.

2. Use a hair growth shampoo as another option to prevent your hair from thinning further. There are several options available ranging from over the counter shampoos to prescription. Either one can be used just as you would a regular shampoo during bathing.

3. Begin using natural vitamins that will encourage your hair to begin growing. Visit a vitamin and supplement store and purchase vitamin B6, biotin, magnesium, saw palmetto and folic acid. These natural elements come in pill form and can be taken with medication in order to promote hair growth.

4. Consult your physician about the possibility of having a treatment known as Finasteride performed. This should be seen as an extreme measure after the over the counter measures mentioned above have not helped regrow your scalp’s hair. Only a doctor can recommend this treatment.

5. Have a hair plug treatment if you see that nothing is working. A hair plug treatment is a medical procedure in which a doctor removes fertile, hair-growing skin usually from your lower scalp and places these cells on your thinning areas. If done properly, these skin cells sprout new hair.
