Low Carbohydrate Food Chart

Many people who are dieting try to avoid eating foods with a high carbohydrate content. If you are one of those people, read on to find out which foods are low in carbohydrates. The foods you want to stay away from are high carb foods such as rice and pasta.


Meat and Fish


Just about all beef, pork, lamb and veal have zero carbohydrates and are high in protein, and fish has no carbohydrates and a lot of protein.


Nuts and Seeds


Except for roasted chestnuts from Europe, which have a very high carbohydrate content, nuts and seeds have a low carbohydrate content and are a fairly good source of protein.


Dairy


Dairy foods such as milk, eggs and cheese are low in carbohydrates and are a good source of protein.


Fruits








Fruits such as melons, coconuts and avocados have a low carbohydrate content.


Butter and Margarine


Butter and margarine have a zero carbohydrate content, though a high fat content.


Oil


Cooking and salad oils have no carbohydrates, though they do have a high fat content.


Vinegar


Balsamic, white and red wine vinegar are all very low in carbohydrate content.
