Prevent Decreased Appetite

There are many reasons why individuals can experience a decrease in appetite. Depression and aging are two of the most common reasons. While serious medical conditions and diseases also create a decrease in appetite, it is far more common for depression to rear it's ugly head. You don't have to resign yourself to a life of little food if you don't want. There are some thing you can do to prevent your appetite from decreasing. This guide will give you some simple steps to keep your appetite revved up and ready to go.

Instructions

1. Set your alarm clock in the morning and get up without pressing snooze. The longer you are awake in the morning, the quicker your metabolism increases for the day. When your metabolism increases, you become hungry. You will want breakfast if you get yourself up early in the morning.

2. Eat foods you enjoy. Of course it is necessary to eat healthy foods, but make sure you like the healthy foods you are eating. If you don't like carrots, don't force yourself to eat carrots. Your appetite will not improve if you dread eating each meal. Go ahead and splurge on yourself a couple of times a week.

3. Walk for at least 20 minutes each day. Exercise not only increases your metabolism and makes you hungry, it also improves your mental state. The happier you are, the higher your desire to eat.

4. Spend time outside. Again, to battle depression, spend time outdoors. Spending time in the sun is a great way to boost your spirits. In fact, those that spend the most time indoors are more likely to experience depression in their lifetime.

5. Go out to eat with your friends. The more you relate eating to fun and happy times, the more your appetite will increase. Eating with friends is fun. Associate eating with fun.
