If an affirmation penetrates your subconscious mind, it can have a positive effect on your life. An affirmation used daily can help you lose weight, stop smoking or reduce your stress level.
Instructions
1. Create statements that appeal to your subconscious. You know better than anybody what type of affirmations will motivate you to make a change in your life.
2. Keep affirmations positive and upbeat. Daily affirmations should focus on what you want to happen, instead of what you want to stop happening. For example, instead of "I don't want to be fat," use "I am healthy and have a beautiful body."
3. Bombard your mind with the affirmations. To penetrate the subconscious, the affirmations will have to be repeated several times throughout the day. Place the affirmations on your desk, bathroom mirror or screen saver.
4. Record an affirmation CD. Place your affirmations on a CD and listen to it while you are in a relaxed state. You will be more open to the suggestions made.
5. Minimize distractions. Allow yourself to focus on the words and imagine that the things that you desire have come to pass. Your mind will believe the affirmations to be true.
