However, ovarian cancer can become malignant and spreads to other parts of the body. Ovarian cancer signs cause pain primarily in the abdominal and pelvic region and are the source of many reproductive problems.
Abdominal Pain

This pain occurs in near the area of the abdominal close to the location of the ovaries. Abdominal pain associated with ovarian cancer can be acute and sharp. If this pain persists, women should see their gynecologists to make sure tumors are not developing.
Digestive Problems
Signs of ovarian cancer mimic conditions associated with the digestive system. The U.S. National Library of Medicine says some of the common digestive problems include gas, bloating, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. Women may begin having problems when eating. The University of California, San Francisco Medical Center says women find it hard to eat or feel full before they've finished their meal. These digestive problems cause weight gain or loss.
Bleeding
Menstrual changes indicate that women are experiencing ovarian cancer signs. The U.S. National Library of Medicine says women may experience heavy vaginal bleeding, a heaving feeling in the pelvic region, and period irregularities. Women should see their doctors if they see changes in their menstrual cycles or experience vaginal bleeding.
Urination and Constipation
Frequent urination and constipation are signs of ovarian cancer. The Federal Citizens Information Center website says these conditions occur because tumors grow and press against the bladder and bowels. If these cells spread beyond the bladder and bowels, they can enter the stomach and bloodstream.
Back Pain and Sexual Discomfort
The U.S. National Library of Medicine says that back pain and pain during sex are ovarian cancer signs. Back pain worsens with the passage of time. Women begin experiencing pain during sexual intercourse. Doctors perform tests like pelvic exams to see if a mass is growing in the ovaries or an exploratory laparoscopic exam.
