Chiropractor Schools

Chiropractors must complete necessary education and training at a chiropractic school before beginning their career.


Chiropractors treat and diagnose patients who have issues with the musculoskeletal system, along with the effects those problems cause on the rest of the body and overall health. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, chiropractors held 49,100 jobs in 2008. Chiropractor schools are offered across the nation, however, applicants must meet required undergraduate education before attending.








Life Chiropractic College West


Life Chiropractic College West, originally known as Pacific States Chiropractic College, was founded in 1976. The Doctor of Chiropractic program at the college is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education. Programs at the college are offered in 12 and 14 quarter options and students are trained in more than 12 techniques. Life Chiropractic College West is in Hayward, California.


Texas Chiropractic College


Texas Chiropractic College, founded in 1908, is the fourth-oldest of all chiropractic colleges in the nation. The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Associations of Colleges and Schools, and its Doctor of Chiropractic degree program is accredited by the Council of Chiropractic Education. Texas Chiropractic College uses a trimester system and 10 trimesters are required for graduation. The college is in Pasadena, Texas.








University of Bridgeport


University of Bridgeport was founded in 1927 as the Junior College of Connecticut. It officially became the University of Bridgeport in 1947, when it became a four-year institution. Later, the College of Chiropractic was established and was the nation's first university-based college of chiropractic. The program at the College of Chiropractic, at University of Bridgeport, is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council on Chiropractic Education, and the college also is a member of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges. University of Bridgeport is in Bridgeport, Connecticut.


New York Chiropractic College


New York Chiropractic College was founded in 1919 as the Columbia Institute of Chiropractic. The college and its degree programs are accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Associations of Colleges and Schools, as well as accredited to award the Doctor of Chiropractic degree by the Commission on Accreditation of the Council of Chiropractic Education. As of 2009, the Doctor of Chiropractic program at NYCC has a graduation rate of 91 percent. New York Chiropractic College is in Seneca Falls, New York.
