Braun manufactures many electric toothbrush systems under the brand name Oral B. Electric toothbrushes care for the health of your mouth by stopping decay and massaging the gums, thus preventing gum disease and cleaning off smelly bacteria. The bristles can be multi-angled with different textures. You can get soft settings for gentle care or more aggressive settings for more vigorous cleanings. Here, we take a look at the latest technology and some troubleshooting tips if you feel any discomfort when using a Braun electric toothbrush.
Sensitive Teeth and Gums
If you have sensitive teeth and gums and the toothbrush is causing you discomfort, simply adjust the mode to "Soft," and clean using this mode for one to two weeks until your teeth have adjusted.
Coffee, Tea and Tobacco Stains
If coffee, tea and tobacco stains aren't being removed by your regimen, brushing harder can cause discomfort, so just brush slightly longer.
Caring for Gums
If you are concerned about your gums, or your dentist has told you that you need to care more about your gums, you should check that you are brushing for the correct amount of time. The toothbrushes have timers, so that when you press the start button, the brush will beep at 30 seconds, notifying you that it's time to move onto the next quadrant of your mouth. The final beep will come after two minutes. Make sure you follow the suggested time-per-quadrant.
Bridges, Crowns and Fillings
If using the toothbrush causes discomfort around any bridges, crowns and fillings, change the setting to "Clean" mode. This will effectively remove plaque and bacteria and alleviate any discomfort.
Braces
If you're using the toothbrush around braces and you feel any discomfort, keep the brush at an angle. Use the "Clean" mode and move the brush in a circular motion.
