Eat Healthy At Ben & Jerry'S

The words healthy and ice cream usually don't belong in the same sentence. However, there are some healthier alternatives at Ben and Jerry's. If you follow these steps, you might just be able to have your ice cream and eat it too.

Instructions

1. Check Ben and Jerry's website ahead of time to serve as a guide for nutritional information. This way, you can view the menu and find out if any of the healthier alternatives appeal to you.

2. Ask if the Ben and Jerry's near you offers some of the healthier choices, such as low-fat frozen yogurt or sorbet. Regular Chocolate Fudge Brownie is 260 calories and 13 grams of fat; the same flavor in frozen yogurt has 190 calories and only 1 and a half grams of fat.

3. Try the Body and Soul flavors. Regular Cherry Garcia has 250 calories in a half cup serving and 14 grams of fat. The Body and Soul Cherry Garcia flavor is 170 calories with only nine grams of fat.

4. Choose a fruit flavor, like original strawberry. At 180 calories and nine grams of fat, it has fewer calories than the other original flavors. The next best are vanilla and coffee at 200 calories and 13 grams of fat. Chocolate and Cherry Garcia are both 210 calories with only 12 grams of fat.

5. Order only one scoop or better yet, share with someone. Limit yourself on the extra calorie and fat intake.
