Aromatherapy is based on the premise of using liquid, volatile plant and flower materials, and forming compounds from them into essential oils. Another alternative treatment for hemorrhoids is to use a topical treatment after a bath or bowel movement. Mix two drops of lavender essential oil with one drop of geranium essential in one ounce of your chosen carrier oil such as sweet almond oil. Apply externally after bathing or after a bowel movement.
