Vitamin C To Detox The Body

Vitamin C comes in powdered form and in fruit juice and can be used to detox the body, in order to remove waste from the colon and toxins from the bowel and bloodstream. The advantage of using vitamin C is that a diet doesn't need to be altered to complete an effective colon cleanse.

Identification

"Bowel tolerance" is the point at which the colon cleanses when enough vitamin C is consumed. Start by taking 1 to 2 grams of vitamin C a day for three to five days.

Features

Consuming up to 2 grams of vitamin C a day will prompt daily bowel movements. If you have diarrhea, reduce the amount by 500 mg to 1500 mg a day. Take as directed for up to 5 days to cleanse the gastrointestinal tract.

Benefits

If you consume 1 to 2 grams of vitamin C in any given day, the very next morning you are likely to have a complete bowel movement.

Considerations

Using buffered vitamin C can prevent excessive gas and flatulence.

Time Frame

Cleansing is traditionally done at the start of spring or between the seasons as a way of detoxing from the previous season. We tend to eat heavier foods during winter, so spring is a good time to undergo a vitamin C detox.
