Use Selfhypnosis Scripts

Self-hypnosis scripts are a hands-on learning process geared toward targeting a specific goal or eliminating a negative habit. Scripts allow you to customize your behavior for self-improvement, no matter how unique the habit.

Instructions

1. Create a list of the habits you would like to eliminate or the goals you would like to achieve. Choose one and write it on a separate piece of paper from the original list.

2. Break down the habit or goal into a detailed description by explaining how it affects you or the situations where you are conscious of its existence or non-existence. For example, if your goal is eating healthy, write down the ways you would like to accomplish this--such as at work, out with friends or on vacation.

3. Rewrite your goal in the present tense once Step 2 is completed. Write suggestions that will help your goal materialize, such as "I have a leaner body when I eat healthy" or "I see myself moving gracefully when I run when I eat healthier."

4. Locate or create a space of privacy that you will use for 15 to 20 minutes. Sit up in a chair and begin relaxation with deep breathing by inhaling and counting to 3, then exhaling to the count of 3.

5. Keep your open eyes at all times and continue deep breathing for 3 minutes.

6. Repeat a sound that you are comfortable with, such as "om" or "ah." Continue this for about 2 minutes or until you achieve a quiet focus.

7. Read your self-hypnosis suggestions aloud and slowly from Step 3. Once you have finished reading your suggestions, take two deep breaths and tell yourself you are now finished and are excited about the new changes to come.

8. Repeat the script for 7 days straight in the morning when you wake up, or before you go to bed. It takes at least 7 days for the scrip to take place.
