Essentially a stroke is a brain attack.Blood is flowing through your brain and there is a clot that inhibits blood flow.Warning signs of a stroke include but are not limited to: sudden loss of speech, sudden inability to walk, sudden paralysis or weakness on one side of the body, and severe unexplained headache.

Risk factors for a stroke include, high blood pressure,high cholesterol, diabetes, overweight, smoking, increased alcohol intake,lack of exercise, and if you have a family history of strokes.Remember that around 80% of strokes are preventable.You can do things such as lower your cholesterol and weight, which can be done by exercise, and quit smoking and drinking alcohol. Some things such as, gender, family history, and race can not be changed.
