Strengthen Thigh Muscles

Strengthen Thigh Muscles

Toning your thighs provides a variety of benefits, not the least of which is keeping your core muscles strong and flexible. In fact, performing specific exercises to target your thighs has the effect of strengthening your entire body.

Instructions

1. Climb a set of stairs. Slowly climbing stairs is probably the easiest thigh exercise around, and one you already know do. You can climb as many as you like as often as you like. The slower you do this, the more you will strengthen your thighs.

2. Sit in a chair and stand back up. Once you've reached a full standing position, sit back down. Repeat this movement in a slow, steady fashion. You'll be surprised by how much you can feel the muscles in your thighs work while you do this exercise.

3. Lie down on your side and support your head in the palm of your hand. Place the other hand palm down on the floor in front of you. Bend the leg on top so the foot is flat in front of you, about 3 feet in front of the knee. Keep this leg still.

4. Lift your bottom leg off of the floor as high as you comfortably can and lower it back to the floor. Do this movement slowly and smoothly. Repeat this 10 to 20 times before moving on to the other side.
