Tired of suffering from a stiff, sore neck? Neck pain can be caused by a slew of different things. Whether it's the way you sleep, your overall posture, or just stress, here are a few tips of relieve stiff neck pain.

1. First of all, try taking a few pain relievers. Advil and Tylenol are both popular pain relievers used to treat mild to severe neck pain. When taking any pain relievers, never exceed the recommended dosage.


2. Get a neck massage. A neck massage - especially deep tissue - can be a great way to relieve the muscle tension that causes stiff neck pain.


3. Take a stress test. There are plenty of online stress tests available that can accurately measure your body' s stress level. High stress levels can be the cause of muscle stiffness and pain in many cases.


If your test shows high amounts of stress in your body, doing a couple stress relieving exercises a day can help eliminate stress related muscle pain.


4. Pay a visit to a chiropractor. These doctors can adjust your body and realign the bones in your neck. Offset bones can put added strain on neck muscles and are often the cause of neck pain and stiffness.


5. Do a few different stretches for your neck everyday. People who have jobs where they strain their neck looking at a computer screen all day often report neck pain. Taking a break every hour or so to stretch your neck can prevent the muscles from seizing up.
