Bee Bulletin Board Ideas

Whether you are planning a bulletin board for a month or a theme for the entire year, there are many ways you can incorporate bees into your plans. Choosing the right theme for your bulletin board can help present your ideas clearly to your classroom. Bees are an easy theme to work with and luckily, there plenty of bee related ideas to design the perfect board for you.

What's the Buzz?

If you want to design a bulletin board to help communicate classroom news, what's the buzz is the theme for you. Choose a solid color to cover your bulletin board. Add a premade border with bees on it. Then post important school or classroom news on the board using black and yellow thumb tacks.

Attendance Hive

The attendance hive is a great way to help your students be accountable for their daily attendance. Create a giant beehive out of poster board and place it on the bulletin board. Place one piece of Velcro on and around the hive for each student in the class. The first day of school, have your students make their own bees out of construction paper, glue and other crafts supplies of your choosing. Once they are completed, have them right their names on them. Add a piece of Velcro to the back of each bee. Every morning, have your students place their bees onto the bulletin board. At the end of the day, have them remove the bees.

Worker Bees

If you assign duties to your students, such as line leader, class monitor or snack helper, create a bulletin board to help announce the students who will be doing what job for the day. Place a bee hive onto the bulletin board for every job and label them. Create bees with pictures of the students' faces on them. Place the bee that corresponds to the given student on the bee hive chore his is responsible for.

Bee Respectful

A bulletin board is also a great way to announce the rules of the classroom. Cover the bulletin board in your chosen color. Then print out a banner that says Bee Respectful. Cut out a bunch of bees. Write the classroom rules onto the wings of the bees and place them around the bulletin board.

Bee Healthy

If you are covering health and fitness, a bulletin board about being healthy will help reinforce the ideas. Cover the bulletin board in blue paper and then add clouds to it. Add a header that says Bee Healthy. Have the students write different health and fitness facts onto pieces of construction paper and then cut them out into the shapes of bee hives. Then add the hives to the board.
