Eat When One Can'T Chew

It's important to get the best nutrition you can given the condition of your mouth. If you're missing several teeth, just had dental work done or have pain while chewing, learn get the nutrients you need without chewing.


Instructions


1. Blend fruit, vanilla yogurt, milk and a little bit of ice to make fruit and yogurt smoothies. These homemade smoothies contain a lot of fiber and protein for a wholesome breakfast or snack.


2. Puree soups that contain meat, noodles and vegetables. Use caution if placing hot soup into a blender. You can add liquid to the mixture if you prefer drinking it, or keep it at a creamier consistency to eat with a spoon.


3. Add extra butter to your pancakes and waffles. Drench them in syrup to make them soft enough to swallow without chewing. Be sure to take small bites and swallow carefully.








4. Dice chicken breast or other meats into tiny pieces. You should be able to mash the small pieces in your mouth before swallowing. You can also dice hard-boiled eggs in the same way.








5. Mash bananas up with a fork. Microwave fresh apples with a tiny bit of brown sugar and butter before mashing them with a fork. Strawberries and raspberries are other fruits that you can mash up to eat without chewing.


6. Treat yourself to a milkshake, pudding or ice cream. If you've just had dental work done, the cold temperature can be soothing as well.
