Enhance Black Hair Growth

Enhance Black Hair Growth

Due to the fragile nature of African American hair, it can be difficult for black people to grow out their hair. What's more, some black women apply chemical straighteners to their hair, which can damage and dry hair. This often results in slow growth or breakage. But fortunately, there are ways to enhance black hair growth and strengthen hair locks.

Instructions

1. Limit the use of chemicals. Chemical straighteners and hair dyes strip hair of natural moisture and increase breakage. Apply chemicals sparingly to strengthen hair and enhance growth. Go to a professional when applying chemicals to ensure it's done properly.

2. Reduce heat. Daily use of hot combs, flat irons and other heated tools to straighten hair may damage hair and slow growth in females. Select hair styles that do not require daily heat such as up-dos and braided styles and give your hair a break.

3. Apply hair moisturizer. Help your hair retain moisture, which reduces shedding and breakage, by applying hair moisturizers such as oil sheen, carrot oil and tea tree oil daily. Products are available in the hair care aisle.

4. Massage scalp to stimulate blood circulation. Use both hands and give your head a deep scalp massage to help stimulate blood flow to your hair follicles.

5. Maintain a healthy diet. Poor diet can slow or stop hair growth. Consume healthy selections such as fruits and vegetables to get nutrients, and increase your intake of protein-rich foods like meats, eggs, nuts, legumes and dairy.

6. Apply hair conditioner. Conditioning hair after shampoos repairs the hair shaft and promotes healthy hair
