Lower Blood Sugar Really Fast

3. Go for a walk, jog, swim or use some cardiovascular exercise equipment. Exercise is a healthy way to quickly lower blood sugar levels that are too high. 4. Eliminate one starch exchange or fruit exchange (15 grams of carbohydrates) at your next meal. This should lower your glucose level by approximately 30 mg/dl, according to DiabetesHealth.com.


5. Choose foods with a low glycemic index at your next meal. These foods are absorbed more slowly into your bloodstream and do not cause a sharp spike in blood glucose levels. Lentils and other legumes are good examples of low glycemic index foods. You can test how various foods affect you by checking your glucose before eating and an hour or two afterward.
