Scoliosis is an unusual curving of the spine. Scoliosis is hereditary and some forms of birth defects can cause this disease. Most causes of scoliosis are still unknown, which is why the term "idiopathic" is widely used when talking about scoliosis. It is rare to experience scoliosis from injuries but it can happen.
