Exercise Induced Asthma Symptoms

Experiencing painful breathing and fatigue in the middle of a workout is both distressing and frustrating. Symptoms of exercise induced asthma can make long or intense workouts nearly impossible to complete. Exercise induced asthma symptoms may be life threatening if not urgently treated.


Coughing


A dry cough may begin while exercising in people who have exercise induced asthma or may occur after finishing a workout.


Wheezing


Wheezing during or after exercise and not being able to talk at the same time as exercising are symptoms of exercise induced asthma.








Shortness of Breath


Shortness of breath may occur while you are exercising or after you have finished exercising and may be life threatening if not treated.


Chest Pain


Chest pain is a symptom of exercise induced asthma that may occur during exercise or after you have stopped exercising.


Fatigue


Tiredness or fatigue shortly after starting exercise is a symptom of exercise induced asthma and may continue even after stopping exercising.


Poor Endurance


People with exercise induced asthma may have symptoms such as poor endurance and a low tolerance for intense exercise.


Long Recovery


According to the Mayo Clinic, people who have exercise induced asthma may take a longer time than average to recover after working out.
