Become Certified In Canine Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese form of medicine that involves inserting thin needles into the body at different points to stimulate healing. It has recently become widely recognized as an alternative to traditional veterinary medicine. To perform canine acupuncture you must become a licensed veterinarian and then receive training in canine acupuncture.

Instructions

1. Enroll in veterinary program at a college. If you want to become a canine acupuncturist, you must first become a veterinarian.

2. Complete all of the required classes for your veterinary major. Once you become a licensed veterinarian you can begin training in canine acupuncture.

3. Receive certification in veterinary acupuncture by attending 10 hours of American Academy of Veterinary Acupuncture approved training.

4. Inform all of your veterinary clients about the benefits of canine acupuncture. Many pet owners view acupuncture as a painful procedure and even though their pets could benefit greatly from the procedure, they may be hesitant to try it.
