Learn to cure fever blisters in a hurry.
Fever blisters, also known as cold sores, are contagious sores on the outside of the mouth caused by the herpes type-one virus. Although cold sores are not like the herpes type-two virus because they are not sexually transmitted, fever blisters are contagious. If you experience fever blisters, do not share lip gloss, drinks or food, especially if you are having an outbreak. Besides being painful, fever blisters are unsightly and difficult to cover. There is a prescription available for cold sores, but if you can't see a doctor or do not have insurance, there are some over-the-counter ways to get rid of fever blisters as quickly as possible.
Instructions
1. Cut out food that may aggravate your fever blisters. Avoid nuts and chocolate as well as spicy foods. If you must eat these foods, alternate eating with yogurt to cool off your mouth and add much-needed lysine to your diet. Lysine is a proven remedy for fever blisters.
2. Cut a caplet of Vitamin E in half and apply to your fever blister, or apply Vitamin E lotion directly to your fever blister. Always sterilize the applicator after using to prevent bacteria and new cold sores. The Vitamin E will soothe the fever blister and provide a waterproof, protective barrier.
3. Take a Vitamin B12 shot or Vitamin B12 supplements. Many B12 supplements are spread inside the nose for a quick result. B12 helps prevent fever blisters and most cold sore sufferers have a B12 deficiency.
4. Take acidophilus capsules before meals. Cold sores can be caused by acidity, and acidophilus will cut acidity on your skin and mouth. Swallow the capsule or open the capsule and take the powder inside the capsule with water. acidophilus can also be given regularly to children who have fever blisters.
5. Eat yogurt at three times a day. Not only does yogurt contain lysine, it also contains acidophilus. After your fever blisters heal, continue to keep yogurt as a part of your daily diet.
