Relieve Insect Bites With Salt

Relieve Insect Bites With Salt

Insect bite relief isn't confined to high-priced over-the-counter medications. After being bitten by an insect, simply grab the nearest salt shaker and make a thick paste out of salt and water to put an end to itchy, bothersome bites.

Instructions

1. Gather table salt, a teaspoon and a small container.

2. Sprinkle 1/2 tsp. salt into the container.

3. Moisten the salt by adding a few drops of water to it.

4. Use a toothpick or a spoon to stir the salt and water together to form a thick paste. Break down lumps and make the paste very fine with fast and hard circular movements with the spoon or toothpick.

5. Get an adhesive bandage big enough to cover the bite and hold the paste in place once applied. Select special-shaped band aids for tricky areas like your back, toes or fingers.

6. Slather a bit of the paste onto your skin using a cotton swab or clean finger. Cover all irritated parts of the skin. Stop applying paste when it seems like it might drip off.

7. Place the adhesive bandage over the wound and the paste.

8. Feel the relief from insect bite.

9. Remove the bandage after 30 minutes.

10. Wash and dry your skin with soap and water.
