Partial dentures are artificial teeth that fill in the spaces of your mouth where you may have missing teeth. Partial dentures are used on patients who still have healthy teeth. The dentures adhere to these healthy teeth with metallic clasps or clear attachments. Partial dentures are typically removable, which makes cleaning an easy task.
Instructions
1. Remove the partial dentures from your mouth in order to clean them. Place them on a clean towel during the cleaning process.
2. Use a denture brush to clean your partial dentures. It is not recommended to use a regular toothbrush to clean artificial teeth. You can find denture toothbrushes manufactured by companies like Oral B and Sea Bond.
3. Use a specialty denture cleaner with the denture brush. Regular toothpaste is too abrasive and can cause damage to the partial dentures. When you choose your denture cleaner, look for the American Dental Association seal of approval.
4. Rinse off any leftover food with warm water. Before you apply the cleaner to the partial dentures, moisten the brush with a small amount of water.
5. Scrub the surfaces of the partial dentures with gently circular strokes. After all surfaces are thoroughly cleaned, rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of the cleaner and food particles.
