Acne Facial Products To Avoid

Acne

Acne can be an embarrassing problem. It begins in the early teen years and can last through adulthood. Pimples form as a result of hormone changes and bacteria on the skin. Not all products created for acne are good. In fact, some are quite harmful and can dry out the skin on your face. You should avoid these products.

Abrasive Cleansers

When you have acne, you need to purchase facial cleansers that are non-abrasive. Abrasive skin cleansers often say "exfoliates" somewhere on the packaging. This type of product will irritate your skin because it is rough. It can actually cause you to break out with new pimples. This type of facial cleanser will also fail to get rid of the zits you currently have.

Products Containing Alcohol

Many individuals believe that oil causes their zits. That leads them to using facial products that contain alcohol. Alcohol dries up the oil on the face. Unfortunately, this does not get rid of the zits because the pimples are caused by bacteria on the skin. All the alcohol-based products do is dry up the skin. It is best to stay away from them.

Warning: Many products are called astringents. Astringents contain alcohol, so don't be fooled into using them.

Fragrance-Filled Soaps

Fragrance-filled soaps may sound appealing. The soap will keep your skin clean so that it doesn't form any pimples, while the fragrance works to make you smell good. Unfortunately, this is not what happens. The fragrances are created with harsh chemicals that irritate your skin. They cause more pimples to form, instead of less. When it comes to your face, you want to think natural. Look for natural soaps or soaps that contain tree tea oil. Tree tea oil is a natural antibiotic. It will actually work to get rid of the bacteria that is causing the pimples so that they go away.
