Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) is a prescription medication that relaxes muscles and reduces pain. This medication eases stiffness and pain associated with muscles injuries or muscle pain. Cyclobenzaprine works by preventing the nerves from sending pain messages to the brain. Cyclobenzaprine should be used only as prescribed and should not be taken in excess. Cyclobenzaprine may be used various conditions.








Muscle Strains


Cyclobenzaprine can be used to treat muscle strains. A muscle strain occurs when the either muscle or tendon is torn or stretched. Muscle strains may also be referred to as a pulled muscle. Muscle strains commonly occur in the back or hamstrings.


Muscle Sprains


Cyclobenzaprine can also be used to treat muscle sprains. A muscle sprain occurs when the muscle ligaments are either torn or stretched. Muscle sprains commonly occur in the ligaments of the knee of ankle.
