Natural Liver Detox

Detoxifying the liver is one way to help clean the body internally. The liver is a large organ with many functions, one of which is filtering out toxins. If the liver is not functioning effectively it can lead to diseases like hepatitis. There are natural ways to clean the liver and improve its health so it can heal the entire body.

Liquids

Drinking lots of fluids every day--water, fruit and vegetables juice, herbal teas--is an easy way to wash away debris and wastes from the entire body.

Fasting

By not eating chemical laden foods, no harmful substances enter the body. This lets the digestive system have a short rest while the body focuses on self-cleaning.

Herbs

There are several herbs that are known to clean out the liver. Milk Thistle is probably the best known liver cleanser. Other herbs are ginger and dandelion.

Aerobic Exercise

Toxins are stored in the fat cells and aerobic exercise burns this fat. The liver has fewer wastes to remove and it doesn't have to work as hard.

Blood

Blood brings nourishment to all parts of the body and removes wastes as well. Cleaner blood helps the liver function better. Herbal blood cleansers are red clover and burdock root.

Kidneys

The kidneys clean the blood every day with its filtration system. Healthier blood benefits all the organs. Use the herb Uva Ursi to clean the kidneys.
