2. Search online for a first-aid course in your area. Choose a search engine -- such as google.com, yahoo.com or bing.com -- and type in "First aid" and then "Yourtown, State." This will pull up listings for any first-aid courses close to your area.
3. Sign up for a first-aid course at your local YMCA. Ask the front desk whether a first-aid course is offered for members and non-members. Choose from courses that include Standard First Aid, Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C.
4. Call the American Red Cross to learn about its first-aid courses. Get training in an English or Spanish first-aid course through an American Red Cross course. Enter your zip code on the website redcross.org to find a course in your area.
5. Businesses can pick a first-aid course offered through the National Safety Council. The council tries to offer cost-effective courses that meet or exceed Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
