Use Blended Cucumber To Treat Acne

Use Blended Cucumber to Treat Acne

Acne is an inflammation of the skin caused by oils and bacteria trapped in the sebaceous glands. It occurs more frequently on the face, but it also affects the chest and back areas. Blended cucumber is one of the many alternatives to over-the-counter solutions.

Instructions

Make a Cucumber Treatment

1. Crack an egg open and separate the white part from the yolk. Set the egg white aside. You will not need the egg yolk for the blended treatment, but you may want to put it in the fridge and use it for something else later.

2. Measure 1 tsp. of tumeric and set it aside. Tumeric has antibacterial properties that are useful in a treatment for acne.

3. Measure 1/2 tsp. of ginger and set it aside. Ginger is one of the natural substances used to treat inflammation.

4. Cut a small lime into appropriately sized pieces for a food processor.

5. Cut a cucumber in half and then into pieces for the food processor. You may want to refrigerate the other half for later use.

6. Place the lime and cucumber pieces into your food processor or blender. Add the egg white, ginger and tumeric and mix them thoroughly.

7. Spoon some of the blended substance into a container. Use your fingers to apply the mixture to your face, but avoid the sensitive skin around your mouth and eyes. Relax and let the cucumber mask work for about 15 minutes.

8. Rinse the mask off your face and pat your face dry. Refrigerate the remaining mixture and use it for the next 3 days. If you need to treat your acne further, discard whatever is left of the mixture after 3 days and make a fresh supply.

Use Cucumber Products

9. Look for acne products that contain cucumber. These products are made in such a way that they will not clog pores and will not add shine or oil. They may help to reduce breakouts, stabilize skin that is prone to acne and tighten the pores.

10. Treat skin that is sensitive, mature or dry with a cucumber-based toner. The moisturizing and anti-inflammatory nature of cucumber can be soothing to these skin types.

11. Use other cucumber-based skin products for their clarifying and antiseptic benefits. Due to the presence of cucumber, these products can help to cool, freshen, clarify and soften the skin.
