Maytag Front Load Washer Problem

My Maytag front load washer goes through the wash cycle until 02 minutes left, then flashes an F message. I cleaned the filter screens where the water lines connect to the washer and made sure the drain hose is clear. My manuel says call for service. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem without a service call? what is model#? is there a # after the f? is it draining? The Model # is MFW9600SQ0. There is no number after the flashing F. It is not draining. At first I could complete the cycle by hitting off twice and switching to the Drain/Spin cycle but now it ends up giving me the flashing F at 02 minutes and there is still water in the tub. I guess the code is F followed by 02 -- both flashing. I mistook the 02 for 2 minutes remaining in the cycle. f02= long drain most of the time this can be solved by cleaning the water pump filter. use a shop vac on the drain hose to get the water out, there are three 7mm or T20 torx screws that hold the lower front panel on. turn the pump filter cap counterclockwise to remove and clean it. if it still wont drain and the drain hose is clear you will have to replace the pump Thank you David. I wonder why they Maytag doesn't put that right in the manuel as a maintenance item. They don't even mention the water pump filter as an F-02 possible solution -- disappointing. Anyway, thank you a ton. My wife is also appreciative. Ours was doing the same thing and I did just what was sujested and its working like and champ again... And man there was junk in there.... I was having the same problem with my washer. I found this thread after doing a google search. I followed the advice and found a child's glove clogging the water pump filter. Saved me the cost of a service call
