Make that stocking cap even cuter with a pom pom.
Although a stocking cap can be a fashionable winter accessory, keeping your head warm in style, you may wish to accessorize it to make it even more attractive. You can give a stocking cap a little pizzazz by adding a pompom to the top of the cap. Pompoms made of yarn can give a whimsical and casual feel to a stocking cap.
Instructions
1. Cut a 12-inch length of yarn with the scissors. Thread the yarn needle with the yarn.
2. Insert the needle into the center of the pom pom and pull the needle through so approximately half of the yarn extends out each side of the pom pom. Insert the needle through the pom pom again at the same point as the first time and pull the needle all the way through to pull the yarn tight. As you pull the needle to make the yarn tight, you will be burying the yarn within the pom pom and anchoring the yarn through the center of it.
3. Position the pom pom where you want it at the top of the stocking cap. Insert the needle down through the stocking cap to the inside and pull the needle through to hold the pom pom in place.
4. Remove the needle from the length of yarn on the inside of the stocking cap.
5. Take the needle back up to the top of the stocking cap and thread the other length of yarn through the needle.
6. Insert the needle down through the stocking cap to the inside again in roughly the same spot you inserted the needle the first time. You should now have two lengths of yarn on the inside top of the stocking cap.
7. Turn the stocking cap inside out so you can see the lengths of yarn. Tie the two lengths of yarn together in a tight double knot to secure the pom pom to the top of the stocking cap. Trim off any excess yarn on the other side of the knot.
