The Audi S3 is a European-only hatchback version of the Audi A3 small family car. As of October 2010, Audi was evaluating the S3 model for the North American market, according to a statement on the company's website.
Engine
The base 2010 Audi S3 has a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that creates 260 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. The engine has a displacement of 1,984 cc with a maximum torque of 350 newton-meters (258 foot-pounds) at 2,500 to 5,000 rpm.
Dimensions
The 2010 Audi S3 is 166.5 inches long from bumper to bumper, with a height from the road to the roof of 55.1 inches and a front wheelbase of 59.9 inches. It can hold 9.9 cubic feet of cargo with the back seats up and 35.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.
Transmission and Suspension
The base 2010 Audi S3 comes with the proprietary Quattro all-wheel drive system, which drives each wheel independently. It comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels and 225/40 R18 Y tires.
Performance
With its 60-gallon tank, gas mileage for the base 2010 Audi S3 is 32.5 mpg in city driving and 53.5 mpg for highway driving. It can reach a top speed of 138 mph.
