Clean A Vinyl Floor With Natural Products

Vinyl floors are a versatile flooring option available in a variety of colors and patterns. Vinyl flooring can mimic the look of tile, hardwood and stone, making it a common choice for many homeowners. Properly cleaning your vinyl floor is key to extending its life and maintaining its appearance. Natural products such as baking soda and vinegar can remove dirt and stains without harsh fumes, toxicity or buildup. Clean your vinyl floor regularly to keep it looking its best.

Instructions

1. Vacuum the vinyl floor or sweep it with a broom to remove any loose debris. Turn off the beater bar on the vacuum to prevent any damage to the floor. If you use a broom, sweep the debris into a dustpan and throw it away.

2. Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water and 1/2 to 1 cup of white vinegar.

3. Dip a mop into the solution and wring it out. Mop the floor, starting from one end of the room and working your way out. Rinse the mop in the bucket as needed and clean one section at a time.

4. Apply 2 tbsp. baking soda and 2 tbsp. white vinegar to a sponge and scrub any stains remaining on the vinyl floor. Rinse the sponge with warm water and wipe the floor to remove any baking soda residue. Allow the floor to air dry.
